This is a small (8" x 8") oil portrait on gallery wrapped canvas. The subject is one of the wild horses found at Sand Wash Basin, northwestern Colorado. These wild horses are an extremely colorful group, dominated by paints, grays, duns and palominos. Fun to paint!
Photo credit goes to John Wagner, who takes wonderful photos of these gorgeous animals, and is very generous, allowing me to paint them.
