This morning I went out early and painted a beaver pond near our property. My goal was to capture the softness of the morning, and to finish this little 9" x 12" plein air painting within 2 hours from set-up to take-down. It actually only took an hour and a half.
I know it's far from being a masterpiece, and really not even finished, but, for me, plein air painting is all about the learning process. I'm going to try to do quite a few of these in the remaining summer, so I'll post them here. My hope is that the plein air work now will make for better paintings in the winter.
